During last week we have noticed the difference between having a large pack of puppies and just two. Seven puppies have eachother to join and seek social relations with. Two puppies have eachother - but they strongly seek the rest of the house - the dogs and the humans - to join as their pack. We have experienced this during nighttime. The two puppies don't want to be left alone, as the rest of us go to sleep next door. Then shouting starts! We have been kind to them; let them out in the garden, given them food or played with them (half a sleep) at one o'clock, three o'clock and five o'clock during the hight. They didn't care! Each time the door was closed, the screeming started. They wanted to get in to their beloved pack. We have realised that, but it has been hard to fullfill their needs. When our adult dogs sleep, there will be lots of trouble, if small dogs run them over. We simply haven't had the guts to let the puppies go with the rest of us during night time. Not yet. But on the other hand, people need their good nights sleep. So we are beginning to work on solutions. As a start, we slowly have tried to let the puppies stay with the old ones during daytime. It is easy with Meggie, but Moonie and Magnus are not pleased. So we don't just want to let go. Horrible things can happend in a second, if and old dog bites a puppy. It's is getting better. As we keep an eye on them, they can all go together on the lawn. Especially old Meggie is very pleased with the small ones playing with her. The only tiny problem is Misty, who fears that her dogs are being taken away. The puppies are clever enough to read daddy Magnus and his loud way of doing dog-talk. They surrender - as puppies are supposed to do. Even Moonie, who is known to be harsh sometimes in her way of behaving to irritating puppies, has been very kind to the two boys. So we still keep our breath. The puppies simply have to learn to run together with the older dogs - even though the way of learning can be rough. |

Nevertheless, other, and more pleasent things have happend during the last update on this site. Last week bigbrother's family to be from Vejle in Jutland (right) was to see us for the second time. They told us, that his name is going to be Anton - a name that fits him very much, we think. So now there is an Anton and a Lunte (the latter is going to Ærø, to stay together with Victor from our I-litter). The puppies slowly begin to react on their names. This is fine. |

The week also gave the puppies their first serious try to behave in the real world! We took Anton and Victor on a car-ride to the nearest forest. They managed the ride very well, and were very happy to nose around in the forest. But he collar, that they wore for the first time...that was really bad, they seemed to think! |

Slowly the puppie's terrirory has been expanded. We now have them all over our garden, and they love to jump around in every corner. But we keep them in sight. And thus we have time to enjoy, how Anton and Lunte take their part of life's big cake! | |||||||||||||||
