We got to know Pam Dever while working on our website. She commented on updates and we stared sending emails to each other. As a result Pam came to see us 3 years ago. She has been here twice since then and has participated in our OES weekend in Tåsinge every year.

Now it was my time to visit her. Pam lives in Waterbury, a small town in the state of Vermont – close to the Canadian border. She lives together with her two dogs, Ivy – a 13-1/2-year-old OES - and Blue- a 10-year-old OES/Terrier mixture.
Pam really had made plans for the week, so time flew.
During the evenings we went to the theatre, to see Pam's sister, we visited friends in their home and others friends in a restaurant.

It was a great experience to get to meet so many Americans and to see so many American homes. We talked a lot about differences, social and political, in Denmark and USA.

The days we spent in the open. It is extremely beautiful with huge forests, rivers and lakes.

One day we went to the Dog Chapel in Dog Mountain. The place is created and owned by the artist Stephen Huneck. He created the chapel in gratitude for having survived a serious disease.

Inside the chapel is covered with greetings from visitors to their late dogs. Outside it is a really dog-friendly place with lakes, paths, a picnic place and an agility grown. Of course dogs are allowed to run free everywhere.

We also went to see the home of family Trapp (Sound Of Music). It is situated only a few miles from Pam's home.
We also went for kayaking on one of the lakes.

During the week the colors of the trees changed from green to orange and red. A fantastic view, Vermont is famous for. People come in busses to watch this beautiful sight..
Thanks to Pam and her kind family and friends who all made this trip unforgettable – and to Jorgen who had two busy weeks walking our dogs, brushing them and doing house, garden and work, while I had a great time spending my vacation!!
