We spent a week here and then headed towards "wine-country" – that is the Côtes du Rhône area with well known villages as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Vacqueyras and Gigondas
We had booked a small cottage in the motel www.residence-les-peupliers.fr
This is also a place that we have stayed before. We knew it was suitable for dogs, since there is a small forest on the area, where Snowy was able to run free.
We spent the days relaxing and visiting markets, we went for walks in the Dentelles and on the top of the Luberon, we visited vineyards and brought home great bottles, had lunch in nice restaurants and so on.
One week later we drove back home.
Unfortunately Snowy suffered from imaginary pregnancy during the vacation and she refused to eat dry dogs-food. We managed to feed her with our food and chicken thighs, so she managed fine.
Snowy loved to visit the market places, where she met other dogs. She missed her own pack!
She behaved great. Simply slept, when we drove long distances in the car. And in the mountains she was observant and listened to our commands.
For three days temperature was above 98 degrees. But then we walked with her in the early mornings. When we came back to the cottage in the afternoon it was cool inside, so she rested there. Luckily Snowy was not very much affected by the heat. We found temperatures around 77 degrees more comfortable, and as a matter of fact it was like that most of the time.
Back home again we picked up Alonso and the next weekend we drove to Tåsinge to reunite with Maise.
Both dogs really had enjoyed their holidays and had behaved very well.
We picked up Maise the weekend we went to the Foodfair in SouthFyn. It has become a tradition that we go there, and Bodil and Einar are kind enough to let us stay in their house for the weekend. This time Herdis came along, and together with Bodil and Einar we had some great hour at the food fair, before we went back to the dogs and took them all for a long walk on the beach.
Many thanks to Bodil and Einar for a super weekend and for taking care of Maise. Thanks to Lene and Kim for taking care of Alonso, to Kim and Lila for guarding our house and garden and to Trine and Arvid for helping with the garden. Without your assistance, we wouldn't have been able to go and simply enjoy for the vacation.
